Weimaraners are typical aristocrats in the canine world. They are large sporting dogs, whose distinguishing features are their short sleet gray coat, their docked tail, and beautiful amber eyes. Ideally, Weimaraner males should weigh up to 85 pounds and Weimaraner females up to 65 pounds. Deviation from the conformation standard is penalized.

The Weimaraner's moderately long head is in proportion to body size. Eyes are gray or blue-gray. Ears are rather long. The gait is smooth and gracious.
